About the Hörmann HSE 2 (40 MHz)
The HSE 2 is a small grey keyfob with two light grey buttons, built for Hörmann and Garador operators from before 2005 that use the older 40 MHz system.
Is this your remote?
Look on the label or the back of the remote for:
HSE240.685 MHz
What it looks like: A small grey keyfob with a keyring loop and two light grey buttons.
Don’t mix it up: It’s easily confused with the later HSE 2 868 MHz version from 2005 to 2011, so check the buttons are light grey rather than blue before choosing this one.
Also sold as: HSE2 40.685 MHz, HSE2-40, Garador part 677.
Still not sure? Upload a photo below and we’ll match it, or send it and we’ll check it by hand.

How it’s set up
This is a fixed-code remote: it sends the same signal every time, so you set it to match the code your door already uses, either by copying it from your current remote or by setting the same code inside it. Rolling code vs fixed code explains the difference.
We email simple steps for your system with every order, and if it won’t pair, email us and we’ll walk you through it.
Seen it cheaper somewhere else?
Check it’s the genuine Hörmann remote. Many cheaper listings are copies or “compatible” remotes, not the manufacturer’s own. A genuine Hörmann remote has the Hörmann name on it, usually on the front or on the label on the back, along with the model name. With a fixed-code system a copy can sometimes work, but it isn’t the manufacturer’s remote and quality varies, so check the listing says genuine and the photos show the Hörmann name.
Every remote we sell is the genuine Hörmann remote, with set-up help included.
